Sexual Assault
In 2019, over 406,970 women were raped. Over 40% of women in the US have encountered sexual violence. Rape Statistics show that less than 20% of rapes are reported. 1 in 3 girls are sexually abused before the age of 18. 1 in 5 boys are sexually abused before the age of 18. 7.2% of all children surveyed in 2019 had been victims of sexual assault. The vast majority of perpetrators will not go to jail or prison. Perpetrators of sexual violence are less likely to go to jail or prison than other criminals.

Hello, thanks for visiting! My name is Barbara Swint and I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. I established Still Standing as a way to encourage, inspire, uplift, and to let other survivors know that there’s healing after trauma. You are not alone and you are still standing!
My debut book, "Still Standing" is my testimonial memoir. In it, I reveal my sexual assault experiences and the steps I took to overcome. Such steps that you too can take and overcome any obstacles at any time of your life.
